It’s no coincidence that compassion is our top core value and why it is an integral part of our DNA here at Property Value Solutions. It is not uncommon for sympathy, empathy and compassion to be used interchangeably. However, it is worth noting the subtle and not so subtle difference between these three words. Sympathy is understanding a feeling, whereas empathy is actually feeling what another person is feeling–both positive and negative feelings. Compassion, however, takes it one step further by compelling one to take action to alleviate another’s suffering.
We at PVS have a solid understanding and belief that compassion is the force that is the foundation of all of our decisions and actions. Bad things happen to good people. We intrinsically believe that if the driver of all of our actions and decisions come from compassion, then honesty, integrity, and each of our other core values will be fulfilled automatically. Compassion allows us to help ELEVATE our customers, our partner investors, and each other to improve each other’s lives in both big and small ways.
